You have all been through so much this year. And yes, this too shall pass. But that doesn't mean that you don't deserve a breakdown. I believe that the occasional breakdown is healthy; we all need to do it sometimes. After your child asks you if he's dying is a pretty fine time to become an emotional wreck. :( I'm so sorry.

I was also in the same boat with cancer scares. The first thing our pedi said was "Well, it's not leukemia". I was very comforted by that. For about our first year. I was able to foolishly, ignorantly think that my child wouldn't flare. Well, some 5 diseases later I'm pretty well past that point. And having read that MANY forms of cancer are quickly under control with your time in chemo/radiation hell, 5 years of testing, and then remission... well, I think maybe that would have been better than lifelong. Our kids get jipped; expected to suck it up and deal when the truth is that they feel far worse daily than I ever want to, & that anyone expects. I hope that the antibiotics kick in fast & the h-pylori goes away quickly. You know I'm hear any time you need to vent.Amadayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07951303205524536934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8989830041824716140.post-62074434096654155332011-05-16T19:33:52.226-07:002011-05-16T19:33:52.226-07:00You could not of ever said that any better. I als...You could not of ever said that any better. I also had a nurse who volunteered with chronically ill children and she shared the same thoughts with me. She said the oncology children go through a phase in life- most pull through it and have the red carpet laid out the entire treatment period. But JRA children are always chronically ill and it's invisible and most of them never outgrow it, its more than a phase, it's life!

What a year you and your family and especially Parker has gone through! I hope this was the worse year and with your dedication, support and drive to help your son... may he hit remission!!! Now that will be a time to CELEBRATE! Thank you for all you have done and are doing for Parker and many others who suffer from this invisible disease, JRA!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13405391515898480443noreply@blogger.com
